About Jane Wathome

Privileged to serve in leadership roles with national, international nonprofits and bilateral organizations across the globe for over 40 years, I have seen many organizations address the problem of rape.

Witnessing the destructive impact of rape firsthand, observing the power of the word rape in silencing many voices; speaking at diverse audiences across the globe on the costly but often invisible impacts of rape; the multi-million-dollar projects I managed, the praying, weeping and comforting moments with families and communities ripped apart by incidents of rape and gang rape were always too late.

Discontent, at crossroads and skeptical about current efforts to end rape; I chose to get out of my comfort zone and do something bold and different. I decided to use my voice and message for impact

As I speak with leaders about our rape tolerant world, they understand why they should care, see endless possibilities of what they can do and how. A vision of a rape free world becomes alive and worthy of their time talent and treasures. They are motivated to exit the rape-sustaining cultures to cultures where all-male and female are safe and free from rape.

Audiences are equipped to confront the causes instead of symptoms; strip the word rape of its silencing power, decode the hidden human cost of rape, unveil the language that hides its ugliness on survivors; and unmask the perpetrators, enablers and reinforcers living in our midst.

Do you want to be part of creating this audacious vision for a rape free world? A just, dignity-affirming world in which all-male and female are safe and free from rape?
